 Our Under the Stars Night Race will provide a higher level of intensity than past MtnRacingSports events. At the request of several racers...they wanted MORE challenge...MORE pain and longer distances...so I am a giving person and said "ok"... 

 

Under The Stars Night Race June 14^th 2008

 

Racing at night provides a whole new challenge…believe me ya gotta try this out it’s a blast!

 

Who- 2 or 3 person teams

Where – Flagstaff Athletic Club (3200 N. Country Club Dr.)

When- June 14^th 2008

What- Night Race starts at 6:30pm (plan on about 4-6 hours of racing)

 

Each Person must have- REQUIRED TO RACE!                                                                 

1. 1 glow stick per team member (must be visible)

2. Water carrying device (40 ounce min)

3. Space blanket

4. Mt.bike

5. Helmet

6. Headlamp and or bike light 

 

Team Required Gear-

•  Cell Phone for Emergencies (1 per team)

• Matches

• Knife

• Pencils/pens

• Spare bike tube/pump

                                       

Good idea stuff-          

• Water carrying device

• Some food

• Flashlight (batteries)

• Weather appropriate clothes

• Gels

 

*We will start around 6:30 pm and race into the night! The moon will be at ¾ for this event. That should provide some additional sight.  There will be NO UTM coordinates for this race!

You will be given maps with trails and directions were to go.

 

Race Distances and factors

• 5-7 miles trail running/walking

• 16-19 on the Mt. bike

• 3-4 Nighttime “team challenges”

• Water event (no boats needed)
